Our Mission

American Friends of Le Kinkeliba is a tax-exempt section 501(c)(3) organization that has been established to give support to Le Kinkeliba, a small but highly successful medical and educational aid organization operating in communities in rural Senegal, West Africa.

Le Kinkeliba provides professional health care and education to a very vulnerable population in a region where the effects of malaria, tuberculosis, cholera, HIV/AIDS and other diseases have devastated communities because of a lack of access to modern medical resources. Le Kinkeliba also promotes mutual health insurance in all of the communities it serves and actively engages in the creation and operation of schools for young children. In addition, Le Kinkeliba is dedicated to building a medical and educational infrastructure, working to improve public health practices, and encouraging the development of farms to benefit the local economy.

We personally visit the communities we serve to understand the exact needs of the local people. To assure that our donations fulfill these needs, we work with local contractors and medical professionals to guarantee the projects' completion, and we remain in continuous communication with the Senegalese doctors, nurses, teachers, and builders who realize Le Kinkeliba's goals.
